Setting Up a Safe Ride-On Zone in Your Society or Garden
Create a dedicated, safe space for your kids to ride their vehicles. Tips for apartment societies, independent houses, and parks.
Creating a Safe Riding Space
The best ride-on experience happens when kids have a dedicated, safe space to drive. Here's how to set one up.
For Apartment Societies
- Talk to your RWA about designating a ride-on area in the compound
- Use the existing children's play area during non-peak hours
- Mark boundaries with small traffic cones (available for ₹50–100 each)
- Ensure the area is away from parking zones and vehicle entry/exit points
- Set timing rules — e.g., 4–6 PM for ride-ons to avoid conflict with other activities
For Independent Houses
- The driveway is usually perfect — just block vehicle entry during ride-on time
- Gardens with paved paths work well for jeeps and bikes
- For indoor riding, ensure the room is clear of furniture edges and breakable items
DIY Course Ideas
Make it fun! Set up a mini course with: traffic cones for slalom driving, a "parking lot" drawn with chalk, a cardboard "drive-through window" for imaginative play, and a finish line for timed laps.
